Changing names doesn’t erase history

November 14, 2023

Where does it end with all the name changes that people want to make in this country because it is offensive to someone? It has gone too far. The history of our country is what happens to all countries. Changing a name does not change the history of what came before us. It is in the past. In life, we all have a history of our life as we grow and make mistakes. That does not change the fact that it happened. The future of the United States is at risk of losing its identity as a melting pot. Maybe we need to change our laws so that anyone who enters our country, as a resident and taxpayer, is a person who appreciates being in a free country, and realizes that there is no perfect solution to pleasing everyone. Special-interest groups are always going to find fault with their surroundings. All countries throughout history have used others to perform the labor when trying to build an infrastructure to make money and grow. Changing names doesn’t erase history. Let’s move forward.
