I find it rich that the City of Rehoboth Beach finds it bewildering that the State of Delaware wants to raise its annual lease rate of $1 to 10% of all daily parking and annual pass revenue sold for the tennis court area on the beachfront. That’s estimated to be $10,000 to $12,000. It is a prime parking area and therefore should command a premium lease price. I also find it rather amusing that the city, from that same property, collects $100,000 to $120,000 annually from the use of state property which should all be going to the state and benefiting all state residents. Instead, now it is only benefiting Rehoboth residents. I would imagine that tourists who come to Rehoboth feel the same way when surprise fee after fee is levied on them each year as well. It seems that what is good for the goose is not good for the gander.
