End-of-life planning seminars kick off March 14
CAMP Rehoboth is partnering with State Farm Insurance, the Register of Wills Office, Parsell Funeral Homes, and Procino-Wells & Woodland LLC to offer a free educational seminar on end-of-life planning.
What Happens When You Die? will be offered at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Thursday, March 14, and 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 18, at 37 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.
“The past several years have brought death to the forefront of our area. From COVID to more fatalities on our roads, more people have experienced sudden loss than we want to think about. Therein lies the problem – no thinking means no planning, and we have seen what that does to couples and families in our community,” said Jeanine O’Donnell, a State Farm Insurance agent. “[The seminar] will address questions like: What happens if you die without a will? Do you know what probate is and how long it can take? What is the difference between wills and trusts? If you die out of state, or out of the country, what happens?”
Expert panelists will discuss what happens from the immediate moment when a death occurs. From that point, those left behind must handle a funeral, expenses and legalities that, if not properly documented, can cause time and frustration that do not need to be added on top of the grief process.
Participants include O’Donnell, Greg Fuller from the Register of Wills Office, Meagan L. Sekscinski from PWW Law, and Mike Frock from Parsell Funeral Homes. Seating is limited. To preregister, go to camprehoboth.com/events or call 302-227-5620. Light refreshments and snacks will be served.
