As a Philly native, I loved the Rehoboth Foodie's column about Taylor Pork Roll. I too grew up going to those pork roll sandwich shops, usually in Ocean City, N.J., and pine for those sandwiches. Pork roll is yummy compared to that yucky mystery substance, scrapple, which mom sometimes made for a frugal dinner.
The Foodie listed restaurants that serve pork roll, but neglected to include the wonderfully down-home Lewes Diner. I was thrilled on my first visit to find it on the menu. Ordered, it was done perfectly with those little nicks in the sides. Support a local business and give the Lewes Diner a try. Their breakfast is super – grits creamy, hash grilled crisp, omelettes tasty.
