Goode will focus on needs, not wants

July 26, 2024

We salute the Cape Gazette for its recent editorials focusing on the truly scandalous compensation package gifted upon the new city manager as well as the seemingly habitual Freedom of Information Act violations by our small city. A recent podcast promoted by the city manager community described the compensation package as amazing, groundbreaking and jaw-dropping. It can be listened to at https://tinyurl.com/4nj2zsx8.

The proper role of the mayor and commissioners is to serve the interest of the public and residents of this town, not to play Santa Claus for the benefit of the city manager community. We desperately need responsible and open governance. We have an opportunity to begin to repair the damage by supporting Suzanne Goode who has pledged to stop secret deals and to focus on needs, not wants. Come out Saturday, Aug. 10 and vote for Suzanne Goode!
