Sam "Surfcooker" McCoy from Dewey Beach and his dad, Tim McCoy, had something big to celebrate Monday, March 25, 2024, at Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Surfcooker finished his Coast Guard basic training and is going to his first station in Depoe Bay, Oregon. The trip would only be complete with the Cape Gazette tagging along. Congratulations, Surfcooker! The Cape Gazette couldn’t be more proud.
