A lot to learn at VegRehoboth, Planet Delaware event
What a well-organized and luminating VegRehoboth and Planet Delaware event Sept. 13-14. From the Eating for Tomorrow kickoff with scrumptious hor d’oeuvres, gift bags and raffle gift at the Unitarian Universalists church to the tremendous speakers lineup, musicians, vendors and great weather, what's not to love about being enlightened on how we can help our planet through our choices, especially day to day?
The film helped me understand the powers at work in the animal industry, and how the average consumer is blindfolded to the actual impact of animal consumption on our globe, while the local vendors were gatekeepers to how I can get more involved within my community on the local level. I rode my bike to Epworth Church's parking lot, where just to name a few things, I could have adopted a dog, met with LGBTQ+ parental support group, helped sea animals, retrieved seafood alternative recipes, and bought books and products to support my journey. I really enjoyed meeting people and volunteers who were welcoming and receptive to my questions, and hope our city can become a Blue Zone before it's too late. I'll be back and encourage others to consider solutions that will greatly help future generations. What a wake-up call. Thank you, VegRehoboth and Planet Delaware!
