Cape Henlopen Elks hold appreciation event for Stockley Center staff

Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 members paid a special visit May 7 to the Stockley Center near Georgetown to express their heartfelt gratitude toward the staff during Public Service Recognition Week. Stockley Center is a 50-bed facility providing both intermediate and skilled nursing care for individuals requiring a variety of complex supports and medical needs.
Jody Roberts, director of the Delaware Division of Developmental Disabilities Services, said, “This is event is an opportunity once a year for the state to really recognize the important role that public employees play in a variety of fields across the state. This is an opportunity for us to take folks who are less publicly visible and really thank them for the unbelievable service that they provide to folks we support every single day. What’s really special today, it’s one thing for the state to be able to do that, but to have an outside organization offer that they not only want to be present, but that they want to give a gift to the public servants that they partner with and volunteer with throughout the year here.”
