Patricia L. Ash, Food Lion retiree

Patricia L. “Pat” (Long) Ash of Lewes was called home to the Lord Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.

Pat was born in Ocean View, daughter of the late Milton F. and Linda J. (Murray) Long.

Pat attended Lewes High School and Delaware Tech, which led to her 25-year career as a bookkeeper and front-end manager with Food Lion. She was also part of the opening team for Food Lion in Rehoboth and Lewes locations. Pat had many loyal customers who would wait in her checkout line, no matter how long.

Pat enjoyed going to the beach, getting Dairy Queen, and watching animals at parks around Lewes. She especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pat loved the Lord and was an active member for over 50 years at Milford First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Gary Long.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, William T. Ash; two children, Deanna Ash, and Tom Ash and his wife Lisa; three grandchildren, Amanda Ash (Shane Smith), Alyssa Rivera Barrera (Luis) and Tanner Ash (Caitlin); eight great-grandchildren, Ava, Xavier, Cindy, Skylar, Liam, Mason, Addie and Vanna; and extended family of the Murray and Long families.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 22, at Milford First Baptist Church, 6062 Old Shawnee Road, Milford, where a time of visitation for family and friends will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome to Milford First Baptist Church.
