A football adventure in England’s Sussex County with the Cape Gazette

Fritz Schranck, the esteemed golf columnist for the Cape Gazette, enjoys traveling with his favorite newspaper, too. This past November, he and his wife, Sue, journeyed to Sussex County, England, to watch a football match. While there, Fritz and Sue presented Lewes Football Club—a community-owned team competing in the lower levels of English football—with a City of Lewes flag, which was warmly received. The hard-fought contest drew 1,259 fans, with Lewes ultimately falling to AFC Totton, 2-0.
