Man shot at Slaughter Beach party

A Dover man was shot while attending a party June 12 at Slaughter Beach.

Police responded at 7:14 p.m. for a report of a shooting at a pavilion behind the Slaughter Beach Memorial Volunteer Fire Co. where a party was being held. Police said a Dover man, 32, was at the party when three masked suspects arrived and began firing multiple rounds at the attendees. The man tried to flee, police said, but was struck in a lower extremity. The suspects fled the area before police arrived.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and later released. The suspects were described as wearing all black clothing and black ski masks. It is currently unknown how they arrived at or left the scene. Surveillance footage is not yet available.
