AmVets Post 2 hosts Flag Day celebration

Sussex AmVets Post 2 in Long Neck held a ceremony June 14, commemorating Flag Day and the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.
Part of the ceremony included the retirement of three flags that had flown around the AmVets post.
Flag Day is an annual holiday that celebrates the adoption of the U.S. flag June 14, 1777.
Post Commander Tom Jones reads a poem titled “I Am The Flag,” which is about the different places the flag has traveled and its emotional significance.

Ryan Mavity covers Milton and the court system. He is married to Rachel Swick Mavity and has two kids, Alex and Jane.
