‘Educating the Workforce’ author to sign books July 5
Sussex County author John Moore will sign copies of his book, “Educating the Workforce: Building a Future in the Global Market Through Education Reform,” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, July 5, at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach.
Moore moved to the area following retirement from his career as a school administrator in New Jersey.
“Educating the Workforce” calls for radical education reform focusing on preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s workforce. Moore invokes Benjamin Franklin’s wisdom to underscore the importance of a skilled labor force needed for economic success. It critiques past workforce efforts, advocating for nationally recognized skills and addressing concerns about America’s future competitiveness.
Its chapters progress from historical contexts through modern challenges. Cultural diversity, alternative assessments and career education are explored, recognizing diverse paths to success.
