Tidemark Foundation awards 2025 scholarships
The Tidemark Foundation announced Addison Lane, a recent Sussex Academy graduate, has been awarded a $3,000 Charles Gleason Jr. Scholarship. Addison was chosen for her exceptional academic performance, leadership in school and community activities, and dedication to pursuing a degree in engineering at Pennsylvania State University.
Her interest in engineering began in elementary school after she joined a VEX Robotics Club, and her team earned an excellence award at the state level and qualified for the VEX World Championship. This early experience sparked a long-term passion for science, technology and innovation.
Addison’s future goals include contributing to sustainable and practical solutions in the engineering field while helping encourage underrepresented students to pursue careers in STEM.
A Tidemark Foundation representative said, “Addison exemplifies the qualities we aim to recognize with this scholarship — intellect, leadership and a drive to make a meaningful impact. We are proud to support her educational journey and look forward to her future contributions in engineering.”
Samantha Derickson, a graduate of Indian River High School and a current college junior, has been named a two-time recipient of the Charles Gleason Jr. Scholarship. This $3,000 scholarship supports students who demonstrate strong leadership, academic excellence, and a commitment to their future careers and communities. Currently majoring in business management with a minor in business analytics, Samantha is transferring to Moravian University this fall after spending three successful years at East Stroudsburg University.
“The Charles Gleason Jr. Scholarship is awarded to students who embody perseverance, leadership and a vision for the future,” said a foundation representative. “To receive this award twice is a true testament to Samantha’s exceptional dedication and potential. We’re excited to see what she accomplishes next.”
