Fun on the Farm to support equine therapy programs June 28

June 25, 2025

Compassionate Hearts will host its Fun on the Farm event, a family-friendly fundraiser, from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 28, at Courageous Hearts, 8848 September Way, Lincoln.

The local nonprofit specializes in trauma-informed, animal-assisted mental health services for individuals and families across the state.

Guests can enjoy a tour of the farm, connect with the horses and purchase tickets to bid on a wide variety of themed gift baskets filled with prizes donated by local businesses and community partners.

“Each ticket purchased helps provide scholarships for equine-assisted psychotherapy to children, adults and families who would otherwise be unable to access this type of care,” said Dr. Rosemary Baughman, executive director of Compassionate Hearts. “It also supports no-cost resilience training for military units at Dover Air Force Base and helps us continue offering community events that bring people together in healing spaces.”

Compassionate Hearts, a nonprofit established in 2014, serves as the fiscal sponsor for Courageous Hearts, a Sussex County-based program with more than 13 years of experience in delivering equine-assisted psychotherapy, traditional talk therapy and alternative healing opportunities through nature and animal connections.
