Delaware school administrators honor Jenny Nauman

July 16, 2025

As Dr. Jenny Nauman settles into her new role of Cape Henlopen School District superintendent, her previous accomplishments as assistant superintendent continue to be recognized and honored.

During a June meeting at Dover High School, the Delaware Association of School Administrators announced Nauman’s selection as 2025 Assistant Superintendent of the Year. This award recognizes her exceptional leadership and continuous dedication to student achievement, and her unwavering commitment to educational excellence.

“I’m honored and humbled to receive this recognition,” said Nauman. “This award is a reflection of the incredible team I work with every day, and I share it with the educators, students, families and community members who make our district so special.”

Nauman has been a dedicated member of the Cape Henlopen School District since 2008. She has been instrumental in advancing the district’s mission and promise through innovative programs, strategic planning and a relentless focus on equity and academic success for all students. She has overseen major initiatives that have had an incredible impact on student outcomes and staff development at Cape. This is her second time in four years to win the prestigious honor.

“Dr. Nauman is a visionary leader whose dedication to Cape’s students, staff and community is second to none,” said Dr. Deirdra Joyner, Delaware Association of Assistant Superintendents president and DASA board member. “This recognition is well deserved and reflects the hard work, integrity and heart she brings to her role every single day. She is widely respected by her peers and colleagues for being a collaborative leader and a tireless advocate for all students.”

It was announced in April that, upon Bob Fulton’s retirement from the district, Nauman would succeed him in the role of superintendent. She assumed that role July 1.
