Robert Raymond Rohme III, loved family, church

July 14, 2025

Robert Raymond Jacob Rohme III, 67, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born July 27, 1957, in Washington, D.C., son of the late Robert Rohme Jr. and Mary (Corcoran) Rohme.

Robert cultivated his lifelong work ethic and began developing the skills that would lead him into a career in the trades. Known for his strong hands and steady demeanor, Robert spent his working years as a dedicated painter and construction worker, respected for his craftsmanship and dependability.

Robert married the love of his life, Debra Rohme, Sept. 12, 1983. Their marriage of over four decades was a testament to enduring love, mutual respect, and unwavering commitment. Together, they built a family and a life filled with treasured memories, laughter, and shared values.

Outside of work, Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed casting a line on a quiet afternoon, spending time at the driving range, and keeping his hands busy tinkering with anything that sparked his interest. He also had a fondness for collecting a variety of items, each with a story, a purpose, or a memory attached. Above all, Robert loved being surrounded by his family, including his church family, who were a constant source of strength and community to him.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Rohme; his sons, Robert Rohme IV and Justin Rohme; his daughters, Carrie Hooper and Christina Ross; son-in-law, Jeremy Ross; two brothers; seven sisters; many nieces and nephews; and his cherished grandchildren, Gabriel Ross, Lillyanna Ross, Britney LeDroux, Hailee Rohme, Jordan Rohme and Ariella Rohme; as well as one great-grandson. He is also lovingly remembered by his extended church family at Midway Assembly of God.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Imogene Mundey; and his brother, Michael Rohme.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, Aug. 9, at Midway Assembly of God Church, 34677 Old Postal Lane, Lewes, with Rev. Gary Ross officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Robert’s memory to Midway Assembly of God Church. Contributions should be given to his daughter, Christina Ross, who will ensure the funds are directed toward the ongoing care and support of the church he so dearly loved.
