Beachcombers Corvette Club to host charity car show Aug. 16

The Beachcombers Corvette Club of Southern Delaware will hold its Annual Charity Open Car Show from 8 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, at First State Chevrolet, Route 113, Georgetown. There is no rain date.

All years, makes and models are welcome. Registration will take place from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on show day. There will be professional judging of the cars, and dash plaques will be given for the first 100 entries. There will be trophies for the top 30 vehicles, and trophy presentation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Net proceeds benefit the Food Bank of Delaware and the Delaware Tech Scholarship Fund. Food bank representatives will be on site accepting donations of nonperishable food items.

The show is free to spectators. Refreshments be available from food trucks on site.
