James T. Joseph, proud veteran

James T. Joseph of Millsboro passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Born Nov. 2, 1933, at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, he was the son of the late Theodore and Gertrude Joseph.

Jim is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbara; his sister, Ruth Johnson of Georgetown; his three children, Cynthia Thornhill of Lockport, N.Y., Robert Joseph of Garner, N.C., and William Joseph of Wilmington, N.C.; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim graduated from Rehoboth High School in 1951 and Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and later retired from Moore Business Forms before settling back in Millsboro. During the summers, he enjoyed collecting entrance fees at Cape Henlopen State Park. Additionally, Jim worked as an accountant at Mountaire Poultry Plant before finally retiring. He loved recording his favorite music, relaxing on his front porch with his favorite cigar, and watching the wildlife. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 13, at  Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro with a visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Conley’s United Methodist Church, 33106 Jolyns Way, Lewes, DE 19958.
