Virginia Fletcher, loving sister, mother, grandmother
Virginia ‘Ginny’ Fletcher, 65, of Georgetown, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa.
Ginny was born Nov. 15, 1959, daughter of the late Harry Sr. and Sandra (Littleton) Fletcher.
Ginny was a lifelong resident of Sussex County. She enjoyed going out to eat, flounder fishing on the boat with her companion Larry, cooking for her family—especially during the holidays—and spending time with her faithful furry friend, Shadow.
She is survived by her lifelong companion, Larry Pine of Georgetown; two daughters, Melissa Fitzgerald Ellis (Allen Pusey) of Georgetown, and Lillie Fitzgerald (Beau Fibelkorn) of Lincoln; sisters, Teresa (Lou) Banos of Laurel, Terrie (Darryl) Brown of Sharptown, Md., Lisa (Dennis) Jester of Seaford, and Helen Fletcher of Seaford; brother, Harry Fletcher Jr. (Michele) of Georgetown, two grandchildren, Tristan Ellis and Aidan Ellis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Ginny’s Life will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Aug. 25, at Short Funeral Services chapel, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where a time of visitation will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial will be private.
