Hook & Ladder BrewFest to benefit Rehoboth fire company Sept. 27

September 12, 2025

The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company will host its third annual 86 Hook & Ladder BrewFest from 12 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, 229 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

Attendees can sip on various samples from 15 regional craft breweries while enjoying live music, local vendors, food, raffles and giveaways.

Guests will cast votes for their favorites in each brew category.

All proceeds support the purchase of equipment for the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company, a 501c3 nonprofit, nongovernmental organization. These brave firefighters and emergency medical technicians respond to more than 4,800 fire, rescue and emergency medical services calls every year while relying on donations to keep their equipment top-notch.

“Our goal for this year is to support the purchase of a $1.9 million ladder truck, an ambulance, a fire truck and firefighter gear, which costs $21,500 per individual,” said Karl Hornberger, a seven-year RBVFC member.

Breweries participating are: Big Oyster, BrickWorks Brewing and Eats, Crooked Hammock, Dewey Beer Co., Dogfish Head, Iron Hill Brewing, Federal Beverage Company, First State Brewing Company, Lewes Brewing Company, Mispillion River Brewing, Ocean View Brewing Co., Revelation, Thompson Island Brewing Co., Tröegs Independent Brewing and Victory Brewing Co.

Atlantic Liquors will be pouring samples of moonshine and bourbon.

There will be free ice cream, with hamburgers and bratwurst available for purchase.
