Beach volleyball returns to Rehoboth Beach Saturday and Sunday, Sept 13-14, as the Mid-Atlantic Volleyball organization presents Mayor’s Cup 2025, also known as the Last Rites of Summer beach volleyball tournament.
Saturday play will be women’s and men’s doubles and triples, as well as junior girls’ and boys’ triples. Sunday will be coed doubles, triples and sixes. Player check-in will be from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. at Atlantic Jewelry Shop on the Boardwalk (Laurel Street).
The objective of the tournament is for fun, recreational play, but the top levels are semi-professionals for both men and women, where the competition is fierce. There’s no charge for the viewing public.
