Lewes Hoornkill panel to meet Sept. 17

The Lewes Hoornkill Annexation Committee will meet at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17 at city hall.

The panel will continue discussion on the request of 12 property owners along the unincorporated area of Hoornkill Avenue.

Lewes planners to meet Sept. 17

The Lewes Planning Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17 at the Rollins Center.

The agenda includes discussion of the panel’s 2027 comprehensive plan.

Lewes groups to meet Sept. 18

The Lewes Johnnie Walker Beach Subcommittee will meet at 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 18 at city hall.

The group is scheduled to continue discussion and possibly action regarding a replica pavilion on the beach.

The Lewes African American Heritage Commission will meet at 6 p.m. in the same location.

The agenda for that meeting includes continued discussion and possible action regarding DE250 celebration participation.

Rehoboth organizational meeting Sept. 19

Rehoboth Beach commissioners have scheduled a meeting for 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 19. The agenda includes the swearing in of Commissioners-elected Chris Galanty and Susan Stewart; the appointments of individuals to the planning commission, parks and shade tree commission, the board of adjustment and the personnel committee; and reports from community partner grant recipients.

Caesar Rodney 50th reunion sign-ups due The Caesar Rodney High School Class of 1975 will gather for a 50th reunion celebration from 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, in the pavilion at Big Oyster Brewery, 6152 South Rehoboth Blvd., Milford. CR graduates from the classes of 1974 and 1976 are invited to attend. A welcome reception from 5 to 6 p.m will be followed by heavy hors d’oeuvres and social time from 6 to 10 p.m. Cost is $45 per person. A cash bar will be available. Learn about healthy aging Sept. 22 in Rehoboth

The Sussex Family YMCA will host a Healthy Aging Day event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 22, at 20080 Church St., Rehoboth Beach.

Attendees will be able to access health and wellness resources, and learn about community connections on a variety of topics related to healthy aging, such as insurance providers, caregiver support, estate planning and more.

The Division of Public Health mobile unit will be on site along with representatives from CHEER centers, area health providers and other vendors.

E-racing the Blues mental health walk set Sept. 27

The Mental Health Association of Delaware will hold its annual E-racing the Blues walk to support suicide prevention programs at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand.
