Associated Builders and Contractors opens Georgetown office
Associated Builders and Contractors Delaware recently announced the opening of its new downstate office at 16 South Front St., Georgetown. A ribbon cutting will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 24, celebrating the association’s commitment to providing faster, face-to-face service, and expanding member support across Sussex and lower Kent counties.
“ABC exists to serve our members where they build and do business,” said Jennifer Cohan, president of ABC Delaware. “By planting deeper roots in Georgetown, we’re making it easier for contractors to access training, safety resources, apprenticeship support, and advocacy right in their backyard. Southern Delaware is growing quickly, and our members deserve a partner that’s just as responsive and forward-looking.”
The Georgetown location will provide a convenient hub for member services including workforce development programming, apprenticeship and craft training coordination, safety and compliance resources, leadership development offerings, and space for committee meetings and peer networking. ABC’s expanded presence will also strengthen relationships with local schools, community organizations and economic development partners to help grow the region’s skilled workforce pipeline.
“This new office is about meeting demand and investing in the future,” said Angela Mariano, chair of the ABC Delaware board of directors. “Our members are building the homes, infrastructure, schools and businesses powering southern Delaware’s economy. Having ABC on the ground in Georgetown means quicker support, more training opportunities and a stronger voice for the merit shop.”
A construction industry association representing merit shop contractors and related firms across the state, ABC provides advocacy, education and training, safety resources, workforce development and business networking to help members win work and deliver that work safely, ethically and profitably for the communities they serve.
