Focusing on health and wellness, the inaugural program will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10, at the library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.

A moderated panel of local experts will address key aspects of healthy aging, including fitness, nutrition, positive mindset, the need for community connection and safe aging at home. The panel discussion will run from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by networking and the opportunity for attendees to visit information tables hosted by local organizations and service providers.

Panelists include: Jennifer Heald, NASM certified personal trainer, corrective exercise and senior fitness specialist; Carmel Monfiletto, MS, RD, LDN, CDCES, CPT, diabetes management/medical nutrition therapy, Beebe Healthcare; Steuart Martens, board-certified health coach; Susan Elliot, Lewes Senior Activity Center; Debra Mikiten, Wayfinder Solutions; and Kathryn Cieniewicz, PT, MSPT, CAPS, CEAC, owner and team physical therapist, Aging in Place Specialists.

The panel will be moderated by Anna Moshier, executive director of Village Volunteers. Representatives from PAM Health, CHEER, SeaCure and PACE Your Life as well as some of the panelists will also be on hand with information tables to answer questions and connect with attendees.

“As more adults in our region choose to remain in their homes as they age, it’s vital that we bring together experts and resources to help them thrive,” said Moshier. “This panel series is about empowering our community with reliable information and encouraging meaningful conversations that support aging with dignity, connection and wellness.”

The event is free, and registration is requested at delawarelibraries.libcal.com/event/15223951.
