Police: Rehoboth Avenue shoplifter ends up with weapon and drug charges

A Harrington man faces weapon and drug charges after police found him following a report of shoplifting on Rehoboth Avenue Oct. 1.
Police were called at 7:55 a.m. to the 400 block of Rehoboth Avenue for a report of a shoplifting, and soon located the suspect who was still in the area. Police said Korey Edge, 25, was found with suspected methamphetamine, related paraphernalia, and a folding knife with a blade in excess of 3.75 inches with attached metal knuckles. Edge was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance tier 1 quantity, possession of drug paraphernalia not related to marijuana, and shoplifting under $1,500. He was released on $8,000 unsecured bond and scheduled to appear at court at a later date.
