Coastal Kiwanis supports local groups

The Kiwanis Club of Coastal Delaware inducted new board members at its October meeting.

Kiwanis district leaders Charles Marks and Darlene Phillips presided over the installation of Dave Thomas; Robert Dobbs; Annette Johnson, program director; Kim Desalvo; and Maryann McKiernan.

Outgoing officers and board members thanked and acknowledged for their commitment are Russell Koerwer, past president; Robert Dobbs, president; Anthony Delacruz, vice president; Dave Thomas, treasurer; and Stephen Schreiber, secretary.

A $1,000 check and winter clothing items were presented to Rehoboth Beach Boys & Girls Club representatives. Avara Brown, Boys & Girls Club director, expressed appreciation on behalf of the children at the club and delivered a painting they had created to thank Kiwanis for its support.

Dave Thomas, treasurer, reported that a donation of $1,000 had been presented earlier in the month to the Community Resource Center for its baby pantry.
