Cocktail contest to benefit Grass Roots Rescue Nov. 9

The 8th annual War at the Shore whiskey cocktail pairing competition featuring local bartenders is coming to Bethany Blues of Lewes at 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9, with this year’s proceeds to benefit Grass Roots Rescue, a local canine foster-based rescue in Milton. 

Bethany Blues mixologist Ryan Minnick, who took the reins of the event a few years ago, said he likes to change it up each year with the goal of ultimately bringing the community together while highlighting the solidarity of local restaurant industry workers. For a creative twist this year, he’ll bring in local photographers. The bartenders will pair their cocktails with photography showing nostalgic scenes of historic Sussex County. 

The event is strictly for ages 21 and above.
