Forecast forces change to DIAA field hockey tournament

The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association, in consultation with the DIAA Field Hockey Committee, has adjusted the 2025 DIAA Division I and Division II Field Hockey State Tournament schedule due to the forecast for high winds, significant rain and thunderstorms expected Thursday, Oct. 30.

To ensure the safety of student-athletes, officials and spectators, the Division I quarterfinal matches have been rescheduled to 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 1.

No. 2 Cape Henlopen will host No. 7 Polytech in the quarterfinals. If victorious, the Vikings will play in the semifinals Monday, Nov. 3, at the University of Delaware. The semifinals were originally scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 2. The finals remain scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7.

Little has changed for the Division II tournament. The opening round is still set for Wednesday, Oct. 29, with quarterfinals Friday, Oct. 31. Semifinal games will now be played Nov. 2, with the championship set Nov. 7.
