Home of the Brave hosts solidarity event

Milford shelter for homeless vets shows unity with other organizations
November 13, 2025

Home of the Brave hosted its second annual solidarity event Oct. 25, at its Milford campus.

The event was all about other veterans groups showing their financial support for HOB, said Greg Fuller, board advisor.

HOB is a shelter for homeless veterans. It can house up to 15 men at any one time. The women’s facility houses up to five and their children.

The facility recently opened a new kitchen and dining facility in the men’s shelter.

Anthony Wallace of Crossroads Christian Church was the guest speaker. Wallace was an Army attack helicopter pilot in Desert Storm.

Fuller said Wallace’s message was that it is the responsibility of the church, government and the community to assist in helping veterans who have fallen on hard times.

He shared how Abraham Lincoln realized the importance of returning to the God of our nation with the day of prayer, and how it was never the duty of the church to be master over government, but to be the conscious of government, according to Fuller.
