Domestic violence awareness is AAUW meeting focus Nov. 20

The AAUW Coastal-Georgetown Branch will meet at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, at The Lodge at Historic Lewes.

Focusing on domestic violence awareness will be representatives of Womenade, a grassroots nonprofit group that supports women and children who are victims of domestic abuse.

Teresa Zatcoff, Womenade president and director, and Peggy Kent, Womenade of Delaware treasurer, will share the organization's story and mission. Also in attendance will be Blanche Creech, associate director of domestic violence and treatment services at People’s Place, a nonprofit in Milford that operates domestic violence shelters for women and children in Sussex and Kent counties.
