E-ZPass Delaware online services to resume Nov. 18
The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles is launching a newly redesigned, ADA-compliant E-ZPass website.
To complete the upgrade, which was set to begin at 8 p.m., Nov. 13, the E-ZPass Delaware website and all related online services will be temporarily unavailable through 7 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18. No late fees or penalties will be assessed while the system is temporarily offline.
During this time, telephone customer service operations for Delaware E-ZPass customers will be temporarily closed. Payments and account updates cannot be processed; new E-ZPass accounts cannot be created; and tansponders cannot be replaced or purchased.
Featuring a modern look, improved accessibility and an overall more user-friendly experience, the enhanced platform also introduces an improved invoicing process made possible through Senate Bill 88, expanded customer service options and upgraded account management features.
DMV Director Amy Anthony said, “This upgrade represents a significant advancement in delivering a modernized, more accessible and user-friendly E-ZPass experience for our customers.”
Updates include new monthly toll-by-plate invoicing. Customers will begin receiving one consolidated invoice per month containing all toll transactions within the billing period. Each invoice will reflect only the toll amount due, with no additional fees or penalties. If payment is not received within 60 days, applicable fees and penalties will be assessed in accordance with Title 21 of the Delaware Code.
All toll road exit ramps are transitioning to toll-by-plate. Drivers without an E-ZPass will no longer use cash to pay at exit ramps. Instead, they will receive an invoice for the toll amount due payable within 60 days. Cash will continue to be accepted at toll booths on Route 1 and I-95.
Delaware E-ZPass Customers may enroll in email and text message alerts for important updates, including low balance notifications.
For Delaware E-ZPass customers who opt in, saved credit card information will automatically update when a card expires or is replaced, helping prevent disruptions to account replenishments or services.
