Milford’s Second Street Players will present their 2025 holiday production of “Coney Island Christmas” with shows from Friday to Sunday, Nov. 28 to 30 and Dec. 5 to 7, at the Riverfront Theater, 2 South Walnut St., Milford. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7 p.m., and Sunday shows begin at 2 p.m. Seats are $27, with a $2 discount available to seniors, students and SSP theater members.
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Donald Margulies weaves together nostalgia, music and merriment in this new seasonal classic story, directed by Rachel Loper of Milford and John H. Hulse of Rehoboth Beach. A holiday show for people of all ages and all faiths, “Coney Island Christmas” introduces Shirley Abramowitz, a young Jewish girl who, much to her parents’ displeasure, is cast as Jesus in the school’s Christmas pageant. As a much-older Shirley recounts this fond memory to her great-granddaughter, the story comes to life and captures a timeless and universal tale of holiday traditions.
