Dewey marketing group to meet Dec. 2
The Dewey Beach Marketing Committee will meet at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the town lifesaving station.
The group will introduce new committee member Tera Keplinger, and discuss and possibly vote to appoint a committee secretary.
They will also discuss and possibly vote on the implementation and promotion of the Neighbor Network communication project, as well as several town hall fundraising activities.
An update will be given on the progress of their collaboration with local businesses and organizations for information sharing and representation at upcoming events.

Housing nonprofit to host virtual info session Dec. 3
The Fuller Center for Housing of Delaware is seeking applicants to serve on its Housing HEROES board of directors, a small working board of nine people who provide governance, strategic direction and community connections for programs that offer affordable housing options to working families and veterans.
The center will host a virtual Housing HEROES Leadership Session for interested individuals at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, via Zoom. It will cover the organization’s mission, current projects, board expectations and time commitments, and the qualities being sought in new members.

Lewes art panel to meeting Dec. 3
The Lewes Public Art Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Rollins Center.

Lewes, Rehoboth Beach police panel to meet Dec. 4
The Rehoboth Beach and City of Lewes Police Accountability Committee will meet at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at Lewes City Hall.
The agenda includes discussion and possible action regarding Delaware River and Bay Authority Police joining the PAC.

Sandwich-making contest to benefit the homeless Dec. 4
Hope On Deck Inc. will host Competition for a Cause: Peanut Butter & Jelly Making Contest at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at AMVETS Post 2, 32592 Long Neck Road, Millsboro. Teams and individuals will race the clock to assemble as many PB&J sandwiches as possible for fun, friendly rivalry and a meaningful cause. Homeless individuals will receive every single sandwich made.
“Each PB&J represents more than a meal; it’s a reminder that compassion is alive and well in the community,” said Dawn Sheehan, Hope on Deck executive director. “Events like this prove that even something as simple as a sandwich can deliver a powerful message: You are seen, you are valued and you are not alone.”
The event highlights Hope On Deck’s ongoing commitment to serving individuals struggling with homelessness, addiction and hardship. Public meeting to discuss Route 24 rezonings Dec. 6
The Route 24 Alliance will hold a public meeting from 3 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Center for the Inland Bays, 39375 Inlet Road, Rehoboth Beach.
Leaders will discuss potential zoning changes of AR-1 agricultural-residential properties to C-4 commercial for the proposed Belle Mead and Atlantic Fields projects, and how these changes could affect traffic, environmental and quality-of-life issues in Sussex County. Information from the Delaware Department of Transportation’s Coastal Corridors Study will also be discussed.

Steiner Road at Route 9 closed thru Jan. 16
Delaware Department of Transportation has closed Steiner Road between Route 9/Lewes Georgetown Hwy. and Hollis Road through Friday, Jan. 16 (weather permitting) for roadway reconstruction.
Motorists traveling eastbound on Route 9 wanting to travel south on Steiner Road will turn right onto Route 30/Gravel Hill Road, then right onto Hollis Road, returning to Steiner Road. Drivers traveling westbound on Route 9 wanting to travel south on Steiner Road will turn left onto Gravel Hill Road, then right onto Hollis Road, returning to Steiner Road.
Motorists traveling northbound on Hollis Road wanting to travel north on Steiner Road will turn left onto Gravel Hill Road, then left onto Route 9, returning to Steiner Road. Drivers traveling westbound on Hollis Road wanting to travel north on Steiner Road will turn right onto Gravel Hill Road, then left onto Route 9, returning to Steiner Road.
