Sussex Preservation Coalition to host forestry expert Dec. 10
The Sussex Preservation Coalition will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes. The guest speaker will be Steven Sinclair, former director of forests and state forester for Vermont.
Sinclair will present information on the economic, environmental and health benefits of trees and forest cover. The economic facts and data provide a way to put a number to the long-term benefits of these life-sustaining green lungs of the earth.
The public is invited to attend, and there will be time for questions. The presentation will be available via livestream at SussexPreservationCoalition.org.
During his 43-year career, Sinclair served as chair of the National Association of State Foresters Urban and Community Forestry Committee, was a founding member of the Sustainable Urban Forest Coalition and a member of the National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council, and chaired the American Tree Farm System Recertification Board.
He currently represents the Sussex Preservation Coalition on the Delaware Urban and Community Forestry Council. He and his wife Susan moved to Delaware in 2019 and reside in Millsboro.
