H.O. Brittingham Elementary School’s Guys with Ties group welcomed ethical hacker Christopher Neuwirth Jan. 16 as a keynote speaker for an engaging presentation focused on confidence, learning and personal growth. The experience was designed to help students understand that making mistakes is a powerful and necessary part of learning, growing and adjusting along the way.
During the presentation, Neuwirth shared personal stories from his career, highlighting moments where perseverance, problem-solving and adaptability led to success. Students learned how confidence is built not by avoiding challenges, but by embracing them and learning from setbacks. His message encouraged students to take risks, stay curious and view obstacles as opportunities.
Neuwirth also captivated students by demonstrating innovative technology related to ethical hacking and cybersecurity. He also gave the students custom keychains featuring a secret code known only to the group. The interactive experience sparked excitement and curiosity while reinforcing lessons in critical thinking, creativity and attention to detail.
The keynote blended leadership, technology and real-world problem-solving, leaving a lasting impression on students. Participants were inspired by the unique career path shared and gained a deeper understanding of how skills like confidence, resilience and curiosity apply both in school and out in the community.
“Opportunities like this help our students build confidence and develop leadership skills that extend beyond the classroom,” said Julie Hickman, H.O. Brittingham assistant principal. “We are proud of the Guys with Ties group for embracing experiences that encourage growth and curiosity.”
