Taxes in Transition - Retirement & Relocation Class at the Lewes Library 2/17
The Delaware Money School will host an educational workshop titled “Taxes in Transition – Smart Planning for Retirement and Relocation” on Monday, February 17 at 5 pm at the Lewes Public Library, designed for individuals approaching or already in retirement who want to make smarter tax decisions during major life changes.
The class will be taught by Robert Jeter, CFP®, CRPC and focus on how taxes shift as people move from their working years into retirement and, in many cases, through relocation. Attendees will gain practical insights into how retirement income is taxed, how to avoid costly penalties, and how to evaluate commonly used tax strategies—many of which are often misunderstood or improperly implemented.
Topics covered will include:
- How different sources of retirement income are taxed
- Common tax penalties and how to avoid them
- A review of popular tax planning strategies—and what most people get wrong
- Key considerations for minimizing lifetime tax liability for yourself and your family
Rather than focusing on short-term tax savings alone, the session emphasizes long-term, lifetime tax planning—helping participants understand how today’s decisions can impact future taxes, cash flow, and legacy outcomes.
The class is designed to be educational and accessible, providing attendees with clarity and actionable knowledge they can use when making important financial decisions during retirement and relocation.
The class is sponsored by the Delaware Money School, a program of the Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council, and is intended purely for educational purposes.
Walk-ins are welcome. Advance registration is encouraged and can be completed through the Lewes Public Library calendar, or by contacting:
