February 20, 2026
The Overfalls Foundation will host a presentation by the Cape May Maritime Museum at 12 p.m., Friday, Feb. 27, at the Net House, Canalfront Park, 211 Front St., Lewes. The program is free and open to the public.
Museum representatives will tell the story of the restoration of its Coast Guard motor lifeboat. Originally constructed in 1952, the wooden motor lifeboat (CG-36538) was used primarily for winter rescues and assistance calls on the New York and New Jersey coast until its retirement in 1972.
