The Rehoboth Art League will present the annual Young at Art exhibition from Saturday, March 14 through Sunday, March 29, at its Henlopen Acres campus.
The public and participating students are welcome to celebrate the exhibition’s debut by visiting the galleries throughout the day March 14.
The youth showcase highlights teacher-selected artwork from Sussex County children in kindergarten through high school. It celebrates the next generation of Delaware artists by providing young, local creatives with support and encouragement to pursue their artistic ambitions.
Each year, the Rehoboth Art League awards a variety of cash and scholarship prizes to outstanding works, including the Tom Wilson Award for Best in Show, the James Kenneth Derrickson Memorial Scholarship, the VIA Awards of Excellence, the Howard Pyle Studio Group Awards of Excellence and more. Every piece featured in the show is hand-selected by art teachers across the county, with this opportunity providing young locals with the chance to display their art in a gallery space for the first time.
This year, RAL welcomes 29 public and private schools to exhibit a selection of their students’ artworks. Participating schools are: Beacon Middle, Blades Elementary, Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence, Cape Henlopen High, Delmar Senior High, Delmarva Christian High, East Millsboro Elementary, Frederick D. Thomas Middle, Frederick Douglass Elementary, H.O. Brittingham Elementary, Indian River High, John M. Clayton Elementary, Lewes Elementary, Lord Baltimore Elementary, Love Creek Elementary, Mariner Middle, Milford Central Academy, Milford Middle, Milton Elementary, Phillis Wheatley Elementary, Rehoboth Elementary, Selbyville Middle, Southern Delaware School of the Arts, Sussex Academy Elementary, Sussex Academy Middle, Sussex Academy High, Sussex Central Middle, Woodbridge High and Woodbridge Middle.
