Scores of families visited Sussex Academy’s elementary campus Feb. 20 for its inaugural academic showcase to celebrate the accomplishments of students after 101 days of learning.
Designed to highlight learning and achievement, the event featured student presentations detailing their research in English language arts, math, science and social studies content areas.
Dean of Elementary Connie Hendricks said the showcase was a celebration of curiosity, creativity and the incredible growth students make every day.
“By sharing their work and presenting their learning, our students build confidence, communication skills and pride in what they have accomplished,” Hendricks said. “This event also highlights the strong partnership between our students, families and staff.”
Sussex Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school in Georgetown with a mission to create a supportive school environment with accelerated learning opportunities that prepare students to explore, experience and excel.
