Wild Cape column is appreciated

March 13, 2026

As a Cape Gazette subscriber, I appreciate the monthly Wild Cape articles by Alice Mohrman that are provided for pure education, not to sell anything or promote any commercial interest. Although many residents are concerned about the loss of open, natural areas due to rapid development, these articles provide the background of the beautiful wildlife and habitat we strive to preserve. Let's build an understanding of what we may lose if we are unable to protect our open spaces from the destruction of bulldozers.

Alice's March 6 article on the seals described the behavior of the different species migrating through our area. The seals can be easily viewed on boat tours of the Lewes harbor. Thank you to the Cape Gazette for allotting print space to enhance our knowledge and education on the rich environmental biodiversity enjoyed in our area.
