Seaglass Bistro coming to Baltimore Ave. in Rehoboth
A new restaurant called Seaglass Bistro is coming to Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth Beach.
A recent public notice from the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissioner said The Sands Inc. submitted an application March 20, for an on-premises restaurant liquor license with a patio and Sunday sales at 23 Baltimore Ave.
Most recently, the property was home to Eden Restaurant, which closed at the end of 2025 and moved out to Route 1. Prior to Eden, which moved there from Rehoboth Avenue in 2003, the structure housed The Ocean Club. Before that, the owners of Pizza by Elizabeths tore down the old beach cottage and put up the current building.
The restaurant is on one of four properties where a 55-room hotel, the Atlantic Crowne, is going to be built. The lots include 17, 19, 21 and 23 Baltimore Ave., and are immediately west of the Atlantic Sands Hotel. The building at 21 Baltimore Ave., most recently JAM Bistro, was demolished. Local hotelier Gene Lankford owns the four lots and the existing hotel.
The ABCC is required to hold a hearing if it receives one or more documents containing at least 10 signatures of residents or property owners located within one mile of the property. Protests must be received by Sunday, April 19.
To file an objection to the granting of this license, write the ABCC at the Carvel State Office Building, 820 North French St., 3rd floor, Wilmington, DE 19801. For more information, call the commissioner’s office at 302-577-5222.
