Milton Theatre purchases Quayside Stage lot

Upgrades planned for outdoor space
April 3, 2026

Milton Theatre has announced that it has met its $150,000 fundraising goal to purchase an adjacent waterfront lot it has been using as the Quayside Stage.

Theater Marketing Director J.P. Lacap said, “We are so grateful to the community for stepping up and helping us reach our goal. It was always on our plans to purchase Quayside, but not at the timeline that eventually happened.”

Lacap said the theater is planning improvements to the Quayside Stage as part of Phase 3 of the theater’s renovation project. Phase 1 was the reinstallation of the balcony. Phase 2 is the ongoing construction of an addition that will serve as an education wing and additional artists’ space. Lacap said construction is planned for 2027-28 and will include adding a permanent outdoor stage, seating, landscaping and other cosmetic improvements.

In March, the theater also began a fundraising campaign to purchase the Quayside Stage property. The theater was offered a 30-day window to raise the funds, which was completed just as March turned to April. The theater began using the space for summer outdoor concerts in 2019. In 2025, it used it to host the Santa House around Christmas.
