Cape Henlopen School District announced several members of its teaching staff have successfully earned National Board Certification, one of the highest professional distinctions available to educators in the United States.
Awarded by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, the certification recognizes teachers who meet rigorous standards through a comprehensive, performance-based assessment. The process requires educators to demonstrate deep content knowledge, effective instructional practices and a strong commitment to student learning and achievement.
The newly certified teachers represent a range of grade levels and subject areas across the district. Their achievements reflect individual dedication and expertise, as well as the district’s ongoing commitment to professional growth and instructional excellence.
“Earning National Board Certification is an extraordinary accomplishment and a true reflection of a teacher’s commitment to their craft and to our students,” said Dr. Jenny Nauman, district superintendent. “We are incredibly proud of these educators for their dedication, perseverance and passion. Their work makes a difference every day in our classrooms, and that impact reaches far beyond our schools into the strength of our entire Cape community. Congratulations to: Amanda Bogan, Little Vikings Preschool; Robin Corrozi, Frederick D. Thomas Middle School; and Milton Elementary School educators Lauren Graves, Tracey Keller, Brittany Matthews and Jorge Moreno Jaen.”
National Board Certified teachers are widely recognized for their leadership in the classroom and beyond. Many serve as mentors, instructional leaders and advocates for best practices in education, helping to elevate the profession and support student achievement at all levels.
