While the Cape Region was cold and wintry, Adele Rugg attended the Annual Delaware Day Celebration on Maui Monday, Dec. 8, 2025. The celebration brought together Delawareans on Maui for sunshine, fellowship and a taste of home. Guests swapped stories, shared memories of the First State and enjoyed the rare experience of honoring Delaware’s heritage under palm trees rather than pines. It has become a tradition for attendees to bring copies of the Cape Gazette, scrapple, saltwater taffy or UD gear to trade like souvenirs.
