May 2, 2026

More than 200 players took to the courts for high-energy pickleball tournaments hosted at Dave Marshall Tennis and Pickleball the weekend of April 15 as part of CAMP Rehoboth’s annual Women’s Fest celebration and in support of the Cape High volleyball team.

Starting Friday, a three-tiered doubles competition brought together players of varying skill levels for a half-day of spirited play, camaraderie and community connection. A featured event for the past 12 years, the tournament remains a staple of the Women's Fest calendar.

Saturday’s Rally for Cape Volleyball pickleball fundraiser brought out more than 60 players to support the Cape Henlopen High School volleyball program. The free event featured open play, a silent auction and live music, with all proceeds going to the squad.

"Weekends like this show what racquet sports can mean to a community," said owner Dave Marshall. adding special thanks to Delaware Sports Tourism, whose support helps the facility grow as a destination for pickleball and tennis.  "We love what we do here every day, and it is even better when the courts bring people together for something bigger than the game."

The CAMP Rehoboth tournament stood out not only for its size but for its execution. Matches ran on schedule, the atmosphere was welcoming and upbeat, and participants and spectators described the day as well organized and enjoyable.

“Dave is amazing. He’s always helping,” said Rina Pellegrini, organizer of the CAMP Rehoboth tournament.

These special events, which included a two-day spring break training trip for 16 Salesianum tennis players, run alongside the club’s regular schedule of pickleball open play, tennis clinics and private lessons. In all, more than 450 people attended over the three days.
