Bike drive accepting donations May 2 at Bayhealth Milton

April 29, 2026

Free Bikes 4 Kidz Delaware and sponsor Bayhealth will host a bike drive from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, May 2, with local drop-off at Bayhealth Total Care Milton, 18383 Hudson Road, Milton.

The public is invited to drop off bikes of all sizes. As part of FB4K Delaware’s core mission, these bikes will be refurbished as needed by volunteers and given out, along with a new bike helmet, to under-resourced children and teens in local communities.

FB4K Delaware was started two years ago as a chapter of the national nonprofit organization geared toward helping all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing donated bikes to those most in need.

Relying on all-volunteer support and sponsors like Bayhealth, FB4K Delaware has given out more than 1,300 bikes to date to under-resourced kids and teens in central and southern Delaware. The organization works with numerous local youth-serving charitable groups to help reach appropriate potential recipients and facilitate bike distribution. The mission is also a sustainable one, in that these efforts keep used bikes out of landfills and recycle any parts that cannot be reused.

“Supporting Free Bikes 4 Kidz Delaware reflects our commitment to healthy families and healthy kids,” said Amanda Bowie, MSM, Bayhealth vice president of marketing, communications and community outreach. “When we help children get active early, we’re setting them up to thrive for life.”

At the Bayhealth bike donation location, individuals can simply look for the table set up in the parking lot and drive through to drop off bikes. A charitable donation receipt for tax purposes will be available. Bikes of all styles, and both kids’ and adult sizes are welcome.
