Lewes major boys win Pat Knight tournament

The Lewes Pat Knight 11/12 Baseball team took the District III championship with an 8-2 win over Millsboro July 13 in the title game. The squad finished the tournament with a 6-1 record, beating Nanticoke, Lower Sussex, Laurel and Woodbridge, and had one loss to Millsboro. Lewes avenged its only loss with a win over Millsboro in the championship game.
The championship game's MVP, James Fleegle, pitched the entire game and held Millsboro to two runs. Tellis Jones hit a two-run home run, and Lee Davis Jr. had outstanding games as catcher during the entire tournament. Kaleb Stadler played well at first base and was responsible for several RBIs throughout the tournament.
The remainder of the team included Wes Hobbs, Wes Lewis, Jackson Ostroski, Grant Evans, Tanner Virden, Matthew Mattia, Sam McElwee and Cody Truitt, all of whom played outstanding ball.
The Lewes Pat Knight team was coached by Lee Davis, Mike Mattia and Jason Stadler.
