Bayhealth radiology earns accreditation
Bayhealth Medical Center’s Diagnostic Imaging Departments at Kent General Hospital and Milford Memorial Hospital have each been accredited by the American College of Radiology.
American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation is a certification to patients, referring physicians and payers that Bayhealth’s Diagnostic Imaging facilities have undergone a rigorous review process and meet nationally accepted standards of care. ACR accreditation demonstrates a commitment to quality care and patient safety.
Bayhealth’s Diagnostic Imaging Departments are composed of radiologists – physician specialists with expertise in many areas of imaging - which allows them to accurately diagnose patient conditions. Many of the radiologists are fellowship trained in a particular modality, meaning they have spent years dedicated to the study of a particular field of imaging.
Bayhealth’s services include a powerful open magnetic-resonance imaging (MRI) system, the only one of its kind in Delaware; direct digital mammography with no cassettes; more 64-slice computerized tomography (CT) units than any other facility in Kent County or Sussex County; the only nuclear medicine unit with Spect/CT; the largest cardiac CT and cardiac MRI program in the area; computer-aided detection double-read technology; stereotactic breast biopsy; three-dimensional CT; interventional radiology; and general and vascular ultrasound, nuclear medicine and general X-ray.
Bayhealth also offers the only full-service breast center in Kent and Sussex counties and offers multiple outpatient facilities for patient convenience.
Bayhealth’s Diagnostic Imaging centers are located in Dover, Milford, Middletown, Milton, Smyrna and Harrington.
