Tom and Victoria Kopunek - definitely caring locals

October 4, 2012

Ever since I made the acquaintance of Tom and Victoria Kopunek, when they operated PostNet and packaged items and shipped them to my family members around the country, I thought they were the most caring and friendly people who were business owners that I'd ever met.  (Since then, I've met a lot of others in our area.)

As the years progressed, and "life happened" they moved their focus to Red Square, but also maintained JavaByte, where I continue to find all my needs met, including a recent stop to get a passport photo taken which actually looked like me.  (We won't mention the first one I had done elsewhere and refused to use!)

As a result of breast cancer, I got involved with Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. Fundraisers, like the Southern Lights of Life, are mandatory in order to fill the needs of breast cancer survivors in southern Delaware. Tom was always the first person willing to donate a gift certificate to Red Square for the Southern Lights of Life fundraiser, and just smiles when I walk in once a year to ask for their help, knowing why I'm stopping by with donation forms in hand.

I had to laugh to myself when I read "The News of Good Eating" in the Sept. 28 issue of the Cape Gazette, because anyone that has had any dealings with Tom or Victoria would know that the world would be a better place if there were more people like them!  If people have enough free time to think up gossip about others, I can offer them lots of opportunities for volunteering in our area to keep them busy instead!
